SMS with a 98% open rate.

Emails get caught in spam, social posts drown in the algorithm — an SMS gets read 98% of the time, usually within 3 minutes. Appointment reminders, birthday greetings, promotions, maintenance recalls — automatic, GDPR-compliant, with reply handling.

The most direct channel to your customers.

An SMS doesn't land in spam. It needs no app. It's read 98% of the time, often within minutes. For appointment reminders, promotions, birthday greetings and maintenance recalls there's no more reliable channel.

At AnvaCode we integrate cloud SMS providers (Twilio, Vonage, Seven.io) into your existing system — you manage everything in the same back-office as your appointments, customers and orders.

Pain points

Why email marketing keeps getting worse.

Four problems with today's communication channels — and why SMS is still the most direct route to your customer.

Emails land in the spam folder

Despite every effort: 60–80% of marketing emails land in the promotions or spam tab. Industry-wide open rate sits at 15–25%. Four out of five recipients never see your message.

Losses: 75–85% of all recipients

Appointment reminders get forgotten

Without reminders, 10–15% of customers forget their appointment. Each no-show costs you the treatment revenue — slot, staff and time are burned.

Losses: significant monthly revenue

Social media reach is dying

Organic reach on Facebook/Instagram fell below 2% in 2024. Posting without an ad budget means nobody sees it. A promotion post reaches just 20 of 1,000 followers.

Reach: 2% of followers

Calls disturb, get ignored

Manual reminder calls are a staff time sink. 40% of calls aren't picked up at all. The customer just sees „Unknown number" and dismisses.

Losses: 1–2 staff hrs / day
How it works

Four steps to automatic SMS.

From GDPR-compliant opt-in to evaluated reply — all automatic, in the same back-office.

1

Phone number + opt-in

During booking or in the customer profile the customer enters their mobile number + ticks the SMS-consent box (GDPR-compliant). Audit trail is stored — who consented when.

2

Campaign or trigger

You build a one-off campaign (e.g. „Summer promo: 20% off perms") or set up automatic triggers („24h before appointment", „on birthday", „after service X").

3

Send via cloud

We send via Twilio, Vonage or Seven.io (German provider). Around 5–9 cents per SMS goes straight to the provider — no commission to us. Delivery is GDPR-compliant, on German servers.

4

Handle replies

Customers can reply — „YES" confirms the appointment, „STOP" removes them from the list (GDPR duty), other replies land in the back-office. All processed automatically.

In action

How it looks in practice.

Back-office for campaign building and automatic reply handling in one single interface.

Campaign back-office — SMS preview with personalization and scheduled send
In the back-office

Build campaign · filter recipients · schedule or send now

You write the SMS once — with placeholders like {firstname} or {appointment}. Choose recipients via filters (e.g. „all clients who haven't booked in 6 months"). Send immediately or schedule for later.

Reply handling — incoming SMS with YES/STOP detection and customer linking
Incoming SMS

Replies are automatically handled · linked · evaluated

„YES" automatically confirms the appointment in the calendar. „STOP" removes the customer from the recipient list (GDPR duty). Other replies land in the inbox, linked to the customer profile — staff can react directly.

What's inside

Nine building blocks for the SMS system.

Standard included. Extensions for WhatsApp Business API or MMS on request.

Appointment reminders

Automatically 24h, 12h or 2h before the appointment. You pick the timing. Includes „YES"/„CANCEL" reply that lands straight in the calendar. Cuts no-shows by 60–80%.

Marketing campaigns

One-off promotion or regular SMS newsletters. Recipient filters („regulars", „not seen in 6 months", „industry X"). Max 160 characters per SMS — forces clarity.

Birthday automation

On each customer's birthday an SMS goes out automatically — with a voucher code or personal greeting. Loyalty on auto-pilot.

Personalization

Placeholders like {firstname}, {lastname}, {appointment_date}, {service}, {staff}. SMS feel personal — not generic mass texts.

Reply handling

„YES" confirms appointment · „STOP" removes from recipient list (GDPR duty) · other replies land in the inbox, linked to the customer profile.

GDPR-compliant opt-in

Every phone number capture has a mandatory checkbox „I consent to SMS communication". Audit trail: who consented when. „STOP" triggers automatic removal.

Common questions

What businesses ask most often.

What sets you apart from classic SMS services? +
Three points: (1) We make nothing on sending — the SMS unit cost goes straight to your chosen provider (Twilio, Vonage, Seven.io), no margin to us. (2) Sending sits inside the same system as your appointments and customer data — no second software, no double maintenance. (3) Every send is transparently documented with delivery status, reply tracking and cent-accurate billing in your stats. You get the right scope and a transparent fixed-price quote after the free initial call — depending on module scope and business size.
Which SMS providers do you support? +
Three main providers we have integrated: Twilio (US provider, robust, good international coverage), Vonage (formerly Nexmo, similar to Twilio) and Seven.io (German provider from Cologne, all servers in DE, ideal for pure Germany business). You pick which fits — we recommend Seven.io for businesses mainly serving German customers (GDPR-easier, cheaper per SMS).
GDPR — what do I need to watch out for? +
Three duties: (1) Opt-in: The customer must actively consent — no pre-ticked box. We log who consented when (audit trail). (2) Opt-out: Every marketing SMS must include „Text STOP to [number] to unsubscribe". A „STOP" reply automatically removes the customer. (3) Data processing agreement (DPA): With the SMS provider. We sign it as part of the setup.
What happens when someone replies „STOP"? +
Immediate automatic removal from the marketing recipient list. The customer gets a short confirmation („You've been successfully unsubscribed") and no further marketing SMS goes out. Important: Appointment confirmations and pure transactional SMS (e.g. „Your table is reserved") are not affected — they don't count as marketing in legal terms. But promo/advertising SMS stop.
SMS vs WhatsApp Business vs email — which is better? +
SMS: Highest open rate (98%), works on every phone without an app, costs 5–9 ct per message. Best choice for transactional reminders. Email: Practically free, can be long and contain images, but 75–85% land in spam or get ignored. Good for newsletters with substance. WhatsApp Business: High open rate, but the Meta API is complex and expensive (~5–15 ct per message plus setup costs). We recommend SMS for critical reminders + email for longer content. WhatsApp only if explicitly wanted.
How long can an SMS be? +
An SMS is technically 160 characters (or 70 with umlauts/special characters). Longer texts are automatically split into multiple SMS and each one billed — 200 characters becomes 2 SMS = double price. Our back-office shows you the character count live while writing and warns before accidental splitting. Best practice: max. 1 SMS = max. 160 characters.
Does it work without the appointment booking module? +
Yes — SMS marketing is usable standalone. You just need a phone-number database (import as CSV or enter manually). Appointment reminders obviously work better together with our appointment booking module — then reminders are auto-scheduled when the appointment is created. For marketing campaigns, birthday greetings and maintenance recalls the CRM alone is enough.
